Our Pastor: AL Grimm

Greetings  I'm the new pastor, just appointed to the Atwater United Methodist Church.

I'm a retired UM minister from the East Coast where I served churches in PA, MA, and CT for 35 years.  We came to CA in 2010 to be closer to our grandchildren Adam and Nina. Our District Superintendent Mary Magaa recruited me to come to Atwater to serve the people of this community.  It is my joy to be your pastor.  I look forward to what God is going to do in and through us in the coming days and months.  I invite you to join us for worship, to share in our study of God's Word, and to share in our fellowship as we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

God bless us all!

Our Administrative Assistant: Currently Vacant

Currently, our AA is being filled by volunteer.

Our Treasurer: Connie Segoviano

Our Custodian: Neauman Lamar Jr.

At one time, Larar was a semi pro boxer and began marathon jogging, formerly employed at womens prison in Chowchilla, Ca. Lamar is married to Emiko and they have four boys and five grandchildren. Larmar has his own business and came to work for Atwater Methodist Church four years ago.  Working at the church is calm and peaceful, it is quite the opposite than there at Chowchilla and wants to work here as long as he can.

Our Pianist: Maryjo Blasinggame

Maryjo brings her musical talents to us as our Pianist.  She plays special services including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve.

Emeritus: Norma Mattos

Norma Mattos had played the organ for the Methodist Church around 80 years. She was very young when she began playing the organ. She began playing around the age of 14, having to ride her peddle bike to church where she was intrigued by the instrument that she fell in love with, the organ. She also played the piano but the organ was her favorite. Norma is well known through out the Atwater community for her playing and teaching. Norma provided musical services for the congregation and many families during the various celebrations of life, weddings, and funerals.  Norma has since retired. We thank her for the many years of service to Atwater United Methodist Church (former Methodist Episcopal Church) and nearby communities.
