Finance Committee
Compiles annually a complete budget for the church. Develops and implements plans to raise sufficient funds to meet the budget adopted by the church council. Administer the funds received according to instructions from the church council. Meets monthly on 2nd Wednesday at 10 am.
- Board of Trustees
This committee is the official legal entity of our church. It is responsible for the physical plant of the church. This includes the general maintenance, repair, and landscaping. Members serve for 3 years. Meets monthly on 2 Thursday at 6:30 pm.
- Children’s Sunday School (10:15 – 11:00)
This is an opportunity to help children learn about Jesus and his love for them. Teachers and parent helpers for 1st through 5th Grade join together to build a foundation of Godly character in children through Bible stories, drama, music, and age-appropriate Bible lessons.
- Youth Ministry
Our youth ministry team offers relevant programs and events that connect students into relationships with Christ and one another. Lead a small group, create an event, be a builder of dreams.
- Adult Ministry
This team is responsible for providing classes where adults can mature in faith through Bible Study. Classes are held Sundays at 8:30 am and Mondays at 7 pm.
Prayer Shawl Committee
Prayer Shawl Committee meets the last Thursday each month.United Methodist Women continue to support the goals and purpose of UMW. The Prayer Shawl Ministry donates for those church members that need a special blessing.
The shawls are made for various causes such as:
- making sweaters for newborns in 2007.
- Love, INC
- Christmas gifts to special children in the church
Members from the Atwater United Methodist Church volunteer to serve meals at the “D” Street Shelter in Merced, California. Our members arrive at the Shelter at 5:30 to prepare the meal and then serve the meal at 6 pm. It is a period of serving the community and have great fellowship with of the team members.
