“D” Street Mission

We provide and serve a dinner meal at the “D” Street Mission on the 4th Thursday of each month. Our work time at the Mission is from 5:30 pm until about 7:30 pm.  The congregation is invited to provide the food items and to serve the meal at the Mission. We have two teams that share in this minister. One serves on even months and the other on odd months. In addition, we have other members that prepare the different courses for the menu.

Food Pantry

Provides emergency food for individuals and families in need. We do work through LOVE INC

Estate Sales

Assists families by conducting Estate sales for them as they move into a new phase of their lives. This includes cleaning the house as necessary sorting and pricing the family items, and conducting the sale usually on a Friday and Saturday. Funds received from the sale is shared between the owner and the Estate Sales Committee.  We use the funds to support the various committees of the church with items not in the church budget.

The “Clothes Closet”

This outreach ministry provides clothing primarily our homeless and needy neighbors who are referred by “D” Street Shelter, Love Inc., JMJ Maternity Homes/Mary’s Mantle and other civic organizations.  Volunteers receive and sort the clothes during the week. the Clothes Closet is open on Wednesday from 10 am to Noon.  The Clothes Closet is in Room 13. This is a mission outreach of our United Methodist Women.
